Raniganj Master Plan

Jharia & Raniganj Master Plan (JRMP): Advisor (Industry) represents the State Government in the High Powered Central Committee (HPCC) to monitor implementation of Jharia & Raniganj Master Plan, dealing with fire, subsidence promotion & rehabilitation in Jharia & Raniganj Coal Fields. The Rehabilitation Plan proposes to shift approximately 33,100 affected households in 139 vulnerable areas to safer non-coal bearing locations. These locations have been declared unfit for human habitation under section 4 of West Bengal Restriction on Construction in Unsafe Areas Act 1979 by DM Burdwan on 25th June 2010. For 4 more vulnerable areas consultation with DGMS are underway. In keeping with the approval of the Central Committee Land Acquisition proposals for identified parcel of 2300 acre and 1300 acre land in Gorangdih and Bonjamehari respectively are currently underway. Simultaneously, demographic survey is being carried to identify the families to rehabilitate under Master Plan approved by the Central Government. The Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA) is the Nodal Agency for implementation of this Master Plan.
