Major Incentive Categories
1. Capital Investment Subsidy
Eligibility: New industrial units and expansion projects
Subsidy Rate:
- Category A Areas (Backward): Up to 20% of fixed capital investment
- Category B Areas: Up to 15% of fixed capital investment
- Category C Areas: Up to 10% of fixed capital investment
Maximum Subsidy: Rs. 2 crore to Rs. 10 crore (sector-specific)
2. Interest Subsidy
Purpose: Reduce cost of borrowing
Benefit:
- 3-5% interest subsidy on term loans
- Available for 5-7 years
- Maximum subsidy: Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 2 crore per annum
3. Power Tariff Subsidy
Objective: Reduce power cost
Subsidy:
- 25-50% subsidy on electricity charges
- Available for 5 years
- Varies by area category and sector
4. Stamp Duty & Registration Fee Exemption
Benefit: 100% exemption on:
- Land purchase documents
- Lease agreements
- Mortgage documents
5. Employment Generation Subsidy
Incentive: Rs. 24,000 to Rs. 36,000 per employee per year
Duration: 3-5 years
Condition: Employment of local candidates from West Bengal
6. Quality Certification Reimbursement
Coverage: 50-75% reimbursement for:
- ISO certification
- BIS certification
- CE marking
- Other quality standards
Maximum: Rs. 2 lakh per unit
7. Technology Upgradation Subsidy
Support: 25% subsidy on technology acquisition
Maximum: Rs. 50 lakh
8. Export Promotion Assistance
